Gilt and Grime May News Dear Friends, First of all, a huge thank you to those who came to see Two. We were delighted to be able to share it with so many of you and hope you enjoyed it. Many of you have been asking ‘what next?’ and it is with great pleasure that we can now announce the next Gilt & Grime show: VINEGAR TOM By Caryl Churchill Directed by Tom Platten An unholy union of witch-hunts and cabaret, combining outrageous comedy, irreverent songs and sobering drama. Gilt & Grime is delighted to revive this provocative play by one of Britain's best-loved playwrights on the Victorian music hall stage of the Cobden Club’s Grand Hall. Tickets now on sale from Ticket Web: http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/ FUTURE PROJECTS Vinegar Tom will be our first foray into working with live music and a large cast on the Cobden’s stage. It marks the first step towards our much larger long-term project of staging a participatory production of THE BEGGARS OPERA in 2009. Preparations for this, including the search for sponsors and building relationships with members of the local community, are ongoing. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact us at this email address. We are keen to meet writers, historians and local people interested in exploring the Cobden Club and its past with a view to creating a BRAND NEW PLAY specifically for the Grand Hall. All ideas and expressions of interest are most welcome!
We look forward to seeing you at the Cobden in July! Tom and Vicky
